Do to undereporting of athletes / Bodybuilders performance post steroid, it is difficult to ascertain the effects of the drug after one stops using. We have heard the Jose Canseco , Mark Mcgwire confession on using the drug; but nothing on how it impacted their performance after they stop using steroids.
What are steroids?
Steroids are the synthetic derivatives of the naturally occurring male anabolic hormone testosterone. The hormone helps the body retain protein, which helps in the development of muscle. Steroids can be taken orally or by injection. When taken orally the side effects are extremely bad for the liver. The injections don't cause the same degree of problems as the pill form but still pose a number of negative health related side effects.
great point, you always hear of the enhancements while using the drug, and you hear of the negative side affects, but no mention of the affects on a person after the use is discontinued.

Good point it seems like you hear about these athletes using steroids and some of them somehow get past the tests because of some new drug.
